John McLain is an Audie Award nominated voice actor specializing in audiobook narration, commercial voiceovers for radio and television, along with industrial and corporate narrations. He has studied with such renowned coaches, teachers, and actors as Nancy Wolfson of Braintracks Audio (LA), Patrick Fraley (LA), Scott Brick (LA) and Paul Ruben (NYC). John’s voice has been heard in Dallas / Ft. Worth, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas and more. He has narrated dozens of audiobook titles as well, from mysteries to westerns, thrillers to history and science fiction to historical fiction. In 2012, he was nominated for an Audie Award for his audiobook performance of Sharon Ewell Foster’s powerful novel, The Resurrection of Nat Turner, Part 1: The Witnesses. He also enjoys acting on the stage when time permits, appearing in musical theatre productions in Texas and Arizona.

John’s love of performance dates back to his childhood, when he listened to his dad play an old Spanish guitar in rural Oklahoma. Since then, he has delighted in the arts as a musician, broadcaster and actor. He plays several musical instruments, and is an accomplished singer having performed on stage in a variety of musical and chorus productions.

John serves his clients from his home recording studio, which is equipped with Source-Connect technology - enabling him to record virtually anywhere in the world. He and his wife Jan live near Phoenix with their cocker spaniel, Tucker – the official studio dog of John McLain Voiceovers.
